The 3 C's to getting past the RECALL for Drama School

Jan 05, 2024

Drama school recalls - National Youth Theatre Recalls... they can really be quite tricky. Sometimes you will be on a self tape audition and sometimes you will be in person getting redirected.

Tensions are naturally high because applicants are more hungry and closer to their dream...

Recalls are usually where a lot of unseasoned applications slip up and these are some things to look out for when it's your acting recall.

Do you have a drama school recall coming up? Send me a DM and let me know how you're feeling for it... super quick stop tour... let's goooo!

Welcome to the three C's to help YOU ace that drama school recall.

1. Change

It's really important that you can take redirection at a drama school recall. So if they give you a piece of direction, don't hold on to what you did in the first round. You must release that and be open to change. They don't want a fighter they want someone they can WORK with. Recalls are assessing your ability but also your adaptability and potential for change. Can you do this?

2. Confidence

The bare bones of Audition Access is rooted helping you shine into your most confident self. I truly believe when you can step into that anything is possible for you! It's so important to have confidence at any audition, but at a recall you've got to really walk in there or start that piece in your full confidence so that you can take up that space. Allow that voice to be heard and truly believe that you are allowed toearn that place at drama school. Confidence is key.

3. Calm

Before you start your audition, do a warm up and thank me later! Because when you prepare, you feel confident. And when you're confident you can access your calmness, and when you are calm you will naturally ATTRACT your dream drama school and get those NYT/drama school audtiion results you desire.

And those are the three C's for acing a drama school recall - hope this has been helpful :)
