Struggle with audition overwhelm?

Not being where you want to be?

Other friends getting into the National Youth Theatre or Drama School and feeling like you're falling behind?

 

Grab and pen and a piece of paper!

 

I want you to write down for me three things that you are proud of/ already achieved this year.

Set your alarm on your phone for 1 minute 60 seconds and GO....

Now these three things have come from you. They haven't come from me! I want you to just read over the ones in your mind now, and read them aloud! 

These are three that you should be proud of as they are exactly and intrinsically you!

No apologising, just fabulous, wonderful, talented you!  This is exactly the type of energy that you need to always be resonating in while applying to drama school or National Theatre, or castings or whichever it is.

There's no other person like you, and there's no other artist that's going to bring all your environment, situation and circumstances to a piece of art like you will because no one's had your experience and no one has your own individual streak.

So the most important thing to remember with the mindset confidence is to celebrate the things that you enjoy, celebrate the things that you are proud of because celebrating you will elevate you and elevating you will allow you to soar throughout your audition period.

The next thing...

I want to challenge you to do is to go stick them up on your wall or on your door and every time you leave your bedroom or your kitchen or whichever it is you'll always pass them and it'll always be a little reminder or just how fabulous you are!

Next ...

I want you to write down your intention for your audition journey this year.

  1. What is your intention?
  2. How do you want to show up in this audition period in this academic year?
    Give yourself a date by the time you want to achieve this as well.

Okay. So when it gets to the end of the academic year, and what is an intention that you want to show up for yourself?

Set an alarm for 60 seconds whilst you do this.

And an affirmation at the end of it as well! 

If you do not know what an affirmation is, an affirmation is an "I am XXXX" statement for example "I am talented", which you are of course! 

Turn up for your mental health today! Turn up for your mindset today!

This industry is infamously known for breaking a lot of actors or like and it can be really soul destroying, which is why I feel so strongly about instilling this within you now before you even get on the merry go round of being an actor.
